Frankie Dettori's Stunning Car Collection: From Ferraris to Mercedes

Frankie Dettoris Stunning Car Collection: From Ferraris to Mercedes

The Italian Jockey's Love for Speed

Frankie Dettori, the most famous jockey in the world, has a passion for everything fast. His car collection reflects his love for speed and luxury.

Ferrari: The Prancing Horse

It comes as no surprise that Dettori's garage is ruled by Ferraris. As an Italian, he always dreamt about owning the iconic "black prancing horse." His first Ferrari was the classic 360 Modena, followed by the famous 360 Spider. But it was the terrifying Ferrari 430 Scuderia that left him in awe.

A Beast of a Ferrari: The 430 Scuderia

The 430 Scuderia was no ordinary car. Developed jointly by Ferrari and F1 racer Michael Schumacher, this road-legal supercar provided a track-focused experience. With its striking design and powerful engine, it could reach a top speed of 198 mph. However, Dettori was so frightened by its power that he had to sell it.

The Ultimate Ferrari: 488 Spider

In 2017, Dettori sold his previous Ferraris to buy the ultimate Ferrari 488 Spider. With a price tag of £190,000, this luxury convertible is a dream come true for Dettori. However, he only takes it out when the weather is dry and keeps it in a special heated garage.

Mercedes: A Touch of Luxury

In addition to his Ferraris, Dettori also owns two Mercedes: an S-class and a Viano. The S-class is a lavish saloon with an exquisite interior and a powerful 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. The Viano is a multipurpose van used to ferry his kids around.

Regrets and Beginnings

Dettori regrets selling his Bentley Continental GT to make room for the Scuderia. However, his car collection didn't start with luxury vehicles. It began with a second-hand Mazda 323, which he bought in 1988 for £200. Despite its flaws, it holds sentimental value for the jockey.

Frankie Dettori's car collection is a true treasure trove for any motorhead. From Ferraris to Mercedes, his love for speed and luxury is evident in every choice he makes.
