Former Premier League Star Eyed for Shock Transfer by League One Side Bolton

Bolton targeting Josh Onomah for a potential move

League One side Bolton has set their sights on former Premier League midfielder Josh Onomah, who is currently a free agent. Onomah, 26, has been training with Stoke City after a short spell at Preston last season and is eager to make a return to professional football as soon as possible.

Onomah, who came through the academy at Tottenham Hotspur, is seen as a low-cost option for Bolton as they look to bring in new players without breaking the bank. The midfielder has been widely regarded as a talented prospect, with many tipping him for success in the Premier League.

During his time at Tottenham, Onomah made 32 appearances under manager Mauricio Pochettino, but was never given a consistent run of starts in the team. He did, however, feature in cup competitions and was a part of the England under-20 side that won the World Cup in 2017 alongside players such as Dominic Solanke, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Kyle Walker-Peters.

After leaving Tottenham in 2019, Onomah had stints at Fulham, Aston Villa, and Sheffield Wednesday before joining Preston in 2022. Injuries have unfortunately plagued his career, causing him to struggle for consistency and playing time at his previous clubs.

Despite being without a club this season, Onomah has kept himself fit by training with Stoke City. This has put him in a good position to make a potential move to Bolton or another club in the near future.
