Rise of Dante Hawkins
Former football hooligan Dante Hawkins has left his days in the notorious Tottenham firm behind him and embarked on a career in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Hawkins, now 33 years old, got into his first football fight at the age of 14 and quickly climbed the ranks within the firm. He even appeared in a BBC documentary about football hooliganism and received a three-year banning order from games at the age of 17.
A Case of Mistaken Identity
During his interview on Anything Goes With James English, Hawkins revealed an incident where he mistakenly attacked one of his own mates. Believing the person to be a Chelsea fan, he punched his friend in the dark. Only later did he realize his mistake. Hawkins expressed remorse for his actions but noted that they remain friends. He jokingly mentioned that he wished his friend had actually been a Chelsea supporter.
From Hooligan to MMA Fighter
Following a stint in prison, Hawkins decided to leave behind the hooligan lifestyle and pursue a career in MMA. Now known as "The Bull," he has amassed a record of 4-1, with his most recent fights taking place on Raged MMA cards.
Memories of Hooligan Days
Reflecting on his days as a hooligan, Hawkins admitted that he found enjoyment in Tottenham's losses. He described the atmosphere as more volatile during those times, with confrontations often breaking out in the streets. However, he also noted that winning matches brought out a more jovial atmosphere among the fans.
