Former Manchester United player calls for Greenwood's return
An ex-Manchester United star has demanded that the club bring back Mason Greenwood following his impressive performances at Getafe. The striker is currently on loan to the Spanish club and is under contract at Old Trafford until 2025.
Greenwood's loan spell at Getafe
Greenwood joined Getafe on a season-long loan in August after his arrest in January last year. The charges against him were later dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). Despite being out of the game for 18 months, Greenwood has been in fine form, scoring five goals and providing four assists in 15 appearances for Getafe.
Former Utd player Ravel Morrison praises Greenwood
Former Manchester United player Ravel Morrison took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to praise Greenwood's abilities. Morrison posted, "What a player. United need to bring him back!!" Morrison's comments come after reports that Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Greenwood.
Interest from other clubs
Scouts from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have reportedly watched Greenwood in action. In addition, Valencia and Real Sociedad are said to be "monitoring" the striker and could make a move for him in the summer transfer window. However, it is highly unlikely that Greenwood will return to Manchester United, as he has settled well in Spain and is enjoying the next phase of his career.

Getafe considering permanent deal
Getafe president, Angel Corres, has expressed his desire to keep Greenwood at the club beyond his loan spell. He stated that the club not only plans on keeping him for another year but also wants to buy him. However, no final decisions have been made yet, and discussions with Manchester United are ongoing.
Greenwood's last appearance for Manchester United was in their 1-0 win over West Ham on January 22, 2022.
