Ex-Arsenal & Chelsea Star Olivier Giroud Hints at Retirement and Almost Quit After 2022 World Cup

Could Giroud be Hanging Up His Boots?

Olivier Giroud, the former Arsenal and Chelsea star, has dropped a hint that he may retire from international football next year. At the age of 37, Giroud is approaching the end of his career, which has been marked by an impressive 277 goals in all competitions.

Trophy-Filled Career

Giroud, currently playing for AC Milan, has enjoyed a successful career, winning titles in France, England, and Italy. He has also achieved success on the international stage, being part of the French squad that won the World Cup in 2018.

Last Chance at Euros

Giroud has admitted that the upcoming Euros will "probably" be his last competition. He expressed his desire to win the tournament with France, having come close in 2016 when they lost the final to Portugal. However, he remains uncertain about what will happen after the Euros.

Bowing Out with a Win

If France wins Euro 2024, Giroud has stated that he will "bow out" and retire from international football. He also revealed that he almost retired during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
