Everton Premier League Relegation Odds Slashed to 2/1 Following 10-Point Deduction

Bookmakers Adjust Relegation Markets

Everton's recent 10-point deduction in the Premier League has prompted bookmakers to revise their relegation markets. However, there is some good news for the Toffees as Coral still considers three other Premier League rivals to be at higher risk of relegation than Everton this season.

Factors at Play

The revised relegation odds for Everton can be attributed to both the clubs they are competing against to avoid the drop and their own fine form under Sean Dyche. Luton, Sheffield United, and Burnley, who were promoted last season, are currently at shorter odds for relegation than Everton. Additionally, Everton's recent strong performances, including a 3-0 victory over Burnley in the Carabao Cup, have boosted their survival chances.

Revised Odds

Despite the deduction, Coral now rates Everton's chances of relegation at 2/1, compared to 9/2 earlier. The current top three spots in the relegation market belong to Luton (1/5), Sheffield United (1/5), and Burnley (8/13). Everton and Burnley are now tied on four points, with the Blades one point ahead. Luton, on six points, have moved out of the relegation places.

Appeal and Future Outlook

Everton has announced that they will appeal the 10-point deduction, adding an element of uncertainty to the relegation market. Coral's John Hill believes that despite the deduction, Everton still has a good chance of survival, especially considering the odds-on favorites for relegation. The betting company now considers Everton's relegation odds to be 2/1.
