Everton Look to Renegotiate Dele Alli Fee as Midfielder Eyes Return

Everton Look to Renegotiate Dele Alli Fee as Midfielder Eyes Return

Everton's Bid to Renegotiate

Everton is reportedly seeking to renegotiate the £10 million fee for Dele Alli with Tottenham Hotspur, as manager Sean Dyche aims to reintegrate the midfielder back into his side. The clause in question will come into effect after Alli makes 20 appearances for Everton, with the player currently sitting at 13.

Dele Alli's Journey

Earlier this summer, Alli spoke candidly with Gary Neville about his childhood trauma, which led to a sleeping pill addiction during his playing career. After spending the summer in rehab, Alli has been keen to make a comeback with Everton. However, a recent groin injury that required surgery has further delayed his return to the first team.

Everton's Request

Everton is said to be seeking Tottenham's cooperation in waiving or reducing the £10 million fee, allowing Dyche to support Alli's return without the financial burden increasing with each appearance. The club is already facing penalties for financial fair play breaches, so avoiding the fee would be beneficial.

Alternative Clubs for Dele Alli

If Everton decides not to pay the fee, here are some potential clubs that Alli could join:

Al-Ettifaq

Steven Gerrard's move to bring British players to the Saudi league could make Al-Ettifaq an attractive option for Alli. The high-profile player would likely be well-compensated and could reunite with Jordan Henderson, with whom he has previously played in England squads.

MLS

A move to Major League Soccer (MLS) could provide a fresh start for Alli. David Beckham's Inter Miami side could be interested in adding an English player, and Alli's tenacity and skill would make him an intriguing prospect. Another option is LA Galaxy, which would also bring him closer to his girlfriend Cindy Kimberley.

MK Dons

Alli began his professional career at MK Dons, making a name for himself in League One before joining Tottenham. A return to his former club would have a romantic appeal, but with MK Dons currently in 12th place in League Two, it may not be the most fitting move for Alli.

Rangers

Following in the footsteps of former Spurs teammate Jermain Defoe, Alli could experience a career resurgence by joining Rangers in Scotland. The team, currently dealing with an injury crisis, could greatly benefit from Alli's contributions. Additionally, Joe Hart's successful stint at Celtic serves as an example for Alli to follow.

Spurs?

While a return to Tottenham is not a realistic possibility due to Alli's permanent transfer to Everton, there is speculation that he could at least train with his former club for fitness purposes. Alli's playing style aligns with the preferences of manager Ange Postecoglou, and many Spurs fans would be excited about a potential reunion.
