Erik ten Hag confirms star could quit club in January as player has ‘break clause’ in contract

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed that left-back Sergio Reguilon could potentially leave the club in January.

Break Clause in Loan Deal

Ten Hag confirmed that there is a "break clause" in Reguilon's loan agreement with Tottenham Hotspur.

Uncertain Future for Reguilon

Reguilon, 26, joined Manchester United on loan in September due to injuries to Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw.

However, with Shaw now back in action and Malacia nearing a return, Reguilon's future at Old Trafford is unclear.

Decision Yet to Be Made

Ten Hag stated that activating the break clause would send Reguilon back to Tottenham for the second half of the season.

However, Manchester United has not made a final decision, and discussions with Tottenham are necessary.

Tottenham's Involvement

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has already made Destiny Udogie his first-choice left-back, which adds another layer to the talks between the two clubs.

Ten Hag emphasized that both Manchester United and Tottenham need to be involved in the decision-making process.
