Ed Sheeran Mistaken for Pop Rival at Football Match

Ed Sheeran Mistaken for Pop Rival at Football Match

Fans Left Confused at Commentator's Mix-Up

Fans of singer Ed Sheeran were left in disbelief after a football commentator mistook him for his pop rival, Olly Murs. Sheeran, 32, was attending the East Anglian derby between Ipswich Town and Norwich City when cameras caught him singing along to a Beatles song. The commentator, Nigel Adderley, mistakenly identified Sheeran as Murs and referred to him as a passionate Ipswich Town fan. Fans quickly took to social media to express their surprise and confusion at the mix-up.

Social Media Erupts with Reactions

The commentator's error sparked a flurry of comments on social media. One fan wrote, "Commentator calling Ed Sheeran Olly Murs had me questioning my eyes." Another tweeted, "There’s no way the commentator called Ed Sheeran Olly Murs." Many fans were astounded that the commentator not only didn't recognize Sheeran but also mistook him for Murs. The mix-up left some fans wondering how such a mistake could happen.

Sheeran's Frustration at Full-Time

Despite the mix-up, Sheeran's focus was on the match. Unfortunately for him, his beloved Ipswich Town could only manage a 2-2 draw against Norwich City. Ipswich dominated much of the game but failed to secure a victory. Sheeran would have been disappointed with the result, as his team missed out on a crucial win.

Before the match, Norwich City owner Delia Smith faced a different kind of trouble. Yobs threw cans at her car, leaving her shaken. The incident marred what should have been a day focused on the football match.
