Deontay Wilder Reveals the Hardest Punch Hes Ever Taken

The Frenchman Who Packs a Punch

Deontay Wilder, known for his knockout skills, recently named the boxer who hit him the hardest. Surprisingly, it wasn't Tyson Fury, who has defeated Wilder twice. Instead, Wilder revealed that Johann Duhaupas, a Frenchman with seven losses on his record, delivered the hardest punch he's ever faced.

A Surprising Revelation

During an interview with TalkSPORT, Wilder was asked which opponent came closest to matching his power. While most people would assume it was Fury, Wilder shocked everyone by naming Duhaupas. He admitted that he initially struggled to recall the Frenchman's name, jokingly saying that the hardest punch he's taken is from taxes. However, after remembering, Wilder confirmed that Duhaupas hit him the hardest in his career.

The Battle with Duhaupas

Wilder and Duhaupas faced off in 2015 during Wilder's second WBC title defense. Duhaupas proved to be one of the rare opponents who could withstand Wilder's power, taking him deep into the fight. However, in the 11th round, Wilder secured a TKO victory, earning him the nickname "Bronze Bomber."

On the Comeback Trail

After losing his WBC belt to Fury in 2020, Wilder is now on the comeback trail. He is set to face Joseph Parker in a bout in Saudi Arabia on December 23. If all goes well, a highly anticipated fight with Anthony Joshua awaits him in March.

So, while Fury may be the man responsible for Wilder's two professional losses, it was Duhaupas who delivered the hardest punch. This unexpected revelation adds to the anticipation of Wilder's upcoming fights and his quest to regain his title.
