Colby Covington Blasts 'Boring' Leon Edwards and Calls for 'Royal Family' Showdown at UFC 296

Colby Covington Blasts Boring Leon Edwards and Calls for Royal Family Showdown at UFC 296

No Impression

Colby Covington has not been impressed by Leon Edwards' reign as welterweight champion, calling him a "boring champion" who doesn't want to fight. Covington believes Edwards has been a stain on the division and has given him the best advice of his career: "You don't cross the boss."

Biggest and Best Fight

Covington insists that his upcoming bout with Edwards is the biggest and best fight the company can do. He argues that a publicly traded multi-billion-dollar company like the UFC is not going to let a non-pay-per-view selling fighter call the shots. Covington will be cheered on by former President Donald Trump during the fight.

Bringing Out the Royals

Covington taunts Edwards, saying that if he was truly a popular figure, he would be bringing out the Royal Family, Mary Poppins, or Paddington Bear to his fights. Covington, on the other hand, claims he is bringing out the most famous person alive, Donald Trump, to support him.

Frustration and Plans

Covington expresses frustration that the fight with Edwards was not held in the UK, denying UK fans a homecoming fight. However, he plans to defend the welterweight title in the UK next year after defeating Edwards at UFC 296.
