Brighton Women's Footballer's Brother Murdered: Suspect Arrested in Colombia

Brighton Womens Footballers Brother Murdered: Suspect Arrested in Colombia

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of the brother of Brighton women's footballer Jorelyn Carabali. The suspect, known as Luis Ocampo or Pipe Pollo, was apprehended in the Colombian city of Cali. The arrest comes after an ongoing criminal investigation by an investigating judge.

Bible Verse

Following news of the arrest, Jorelyn, 26, posted a Bible verse on her Instagram. The verse read, "Have faith and smile, because God loves you."

Progress in the Investigation

Cali prosecution chief Sandra Eugenia Gonzalez Mina confirmed the arrest and provided details about the case. According to Mina, the alleged killer of Jorelyn's brother has been identified, and evidence suggests that there was a previous altercation between the two individuals. The victim was shot six times, with four shots to the face. It is believed that the suspect left a nightclub to retrieve a firearm before returning and shooting the victim.

A Tragic History

This is not the first time tragedy has struck Jorelyn's family. In 2017, her brother Juan, aged 15, was shot and killed while attending a football match.
