Charged with Carjacking and Burglary
Boxer Jarrell Miller, 35, was arrested in Hollywood on Tuesday for allegedly attacking a car dealership employee and stealing a Dodge Ram. He has been charged with carjacking without a firearm or weapon and burglary with assault or battery.
Chokehold and Escape
According to Hollywood Police, Miller put the car dealership employee in a chokehold before slamming him to the ground. He then allegedly took the keys to a recently repossessed Dodge Ram and fled the scene.
Court Hearing and Custody
Miller had a court hearing on Wednesday afternoon and is currently in custody in Fort Lauderdale, as confirmed by Broward's Sheriff's Office. He is being held on a $30,000 (£26,600) bond.
Miller's Boxing Career
Miller, originally from Brooklyn, New York, last fought on December 23, losing to Brit Daniel Dubois via 12th round TKO. He was previously scheduled to face Anthony Joshua in 2019 but was replaced by Andy Ruiz Jr after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs. After a suspension, Miller returned to the ring in 2022 and had two low-key wins before facing Dubois.
