Best Away Day Experiences in the Premier League Revealed: Liverpool Triumphs as Shock Team Takes Top Spot in London

Liverpool and Newcastle Dominate Away Day Experience

In a recent study, Liverpool and Newcastle have emerged as the top choices for away fans in the Premier League. The study focused on factors such as accessibility, affordability, and the social scene, revealing the best overall experience for supporters.

Liverpool's Anfield Takes the Crown

Anfield, home to Liverpool, secured the top spot with a score of 65 out of 100. The key factors that contributed to their victory were the affordability of match tickets, with prices as low as £9 for the upper main stand. Additionally, the abundance of bars and vibrant nightlife in Newcastle made it a strong contender, earning a score of 64.3.

London Giants Fail to Impress

Despite their status as capital giants, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Chelsea found themselves in mid-table rankings. Tottenham, located 8.1 miles from London's central rail terminus, struggled to compete with closer destinations. Brentford, just 6.4 miles from Stamford Bridge, flew the flag for London, securing the third spot with a score of 63.9.

Wolves and Sheffield United Shine

Wolves claimed the fourth spot, offering the most affordable city to visit overall, with an average hotel price of £88 per night. Sheffield United completed the top five, benefiting from their proximity to the nearest rail station, just 0.8 miles away.

City Struggles, Everton Falls Behind

Manchester City, known for their success on the pitch, ranked third from the bottom in terms of away day experience. Their amenities were 68% more expensive than their rivals, Manchester United. Everton, Liverpool's neighbors, landed in 12th place, lagging behind by over 11 points.

Brighton at the Bottom

Unfortunately, Brighton found themselves at the bottom of the table with a score of 27.5. The city's costlier hotels and lack of take-outs contributed to their low ranking. Bournemouth, their south coast rivals, fared better, securing a score 19.8 points above Brighton.

Overall, this study sheds light on the best away day experiences in the Premier League, with Liverpool and Newcastle leading the way. The findings challenge the notion that big city clubs offer the ultimate football fun, as smaller destinations prove to be hidden gems for football enthusiasts.
