Bernardo Silva and Bruno Fernandes Battle for Joao Neves Transfer

Bernardo Silva and Bruno Fernandes Battle for Joao Neves Transfer

Competition Heats Up

Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes, and Manchester City star, Bernardo Silva, are both vying for the signature of Portuguese midfielder Joao Neves, according to reports.

Desire for Neves

Fernandes expressed his desire to bring Neves to United, stating, "I would love to have him at United. But it's Joao's choice... He has top quality. He's a great player but it depends on the coach's ideas. He will have a great future, in United or somewhere else."

Meanwhile, Silva has made it clear that he wants Neves to sign for City instead. He said, "If I can, I will pull strings to João Neves to go to Man City. I'd like to see João joining City instead of Man Utd, of course!"

No Small Price

However, acquiring Neves will not come cheap. Benfica, his current club, is unwilling to part with one of their prized assets unless his release clause of £105million is met.

Rising Star

Neves, a 19-year-old midfielder, has been making waves in the football world. He has already made 38 senior appearances for Benfica and made his international debut for Portugal alongside Fernandes and Silva in a recent Euro 2024 qualifier.
