Arsenal Ready to Sell Injury-Prone Thomas Partey in January

Arsenal is reportedly open to offers for midfielder Thomas Partey in the upcoming January transfer window. The 30-year-old Ghanaian international has been plagued by injuries since joining the club in 2020 for £45 million from Atletico Madrid. Partey's recent thigh injury, which is expected to keep him out for the remainder of the year, has expedited Arsenal's decision to cash in on the player.

Constant Absences and Concerns

Partey has missed a total of 57 games and has been unavailable for 296 days due to various muscular injuries. His consistent absences have prompted Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to seek alternatives, including the club-record signing of Declan Rice last summer. Arteta has expressed concern over Partey's availability, stating that it is a "big concern" for the team.

High Salary and Contract

Partey is one of Arsenal's highest-paid players, earning £200,000-a-week. He has a contract with the club until 2025, but Arsenal is now exploring the possibility of selling him in January to avoid further financial risk.

Interest from Juventus and Saudi Arabian Clubs

Italian giants Juventus have shown interest in signing Partey, and there have been inquiries from several Saudi Arabian clubs. While Partey has expressed his desire to continue playing in Europe, Arsenal hopes that the Saudi interest will allow them to negotiate a transfer fee of around £30 million.

Partey has scored five goals in 104 games for Arsenal and played a significant role in last season's title challenge. However, his recurring injuries have hindered his ability to contribute consistently to the team.
