Andy Murray set for tough Australian Open draw, while Emma Raducanu faces familiar opponent in comeback tournament

British tennis stars Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu have discovered their opponents for the upcoming Australian Open. Raducanu, who shot to fame last year with her stunning US Open victory, will face American Shelby Rogers in the first round. Meanwhile, Murray could potentially face old rival Novak Djokovic if both players make it through their opening matches. The Australian Open begins on Sunday and will run for 15 days.

Raducanu to face Rogers in first round

Emma Raducanu, the 2021 US Open champion, has been drawn against American player Shelby Rogers in the first round of the Australian Open. The two players previously met in the last 16 of the US Open, with Raducanu coming out on top. This will be Raducanu's first tournament since undergoing multiple operations last year.

Murray could face Djokovic in third round

Andy Murray, a five-time Australian Open finalist, is set to face Argentine player Tomas Martín Etcheverry in his opening match. If Murray is successful, he could potentially face world No.1 Novak Djokovic in the third round. The two players have a long history and have faced each other in several major finals.

Other notable matches to watch

There are several other exciting matches to look forward to in the Australian Open. Top seed Iga Swiatek will face 2020 champion Sofia Kenin, while Naomi Osaka, who recently became a mother, will take on Caroline Garcia. The tournament will run for 15 days, starting on Sunday.
