Alex Scott, former women's football player and now a popular commentator, has responded with laughter to Joey Barton's recent controversial comments about her. Barton, a former professional footballer himself, had stated that Scott should not be commentating on men's football.
Scott Laughs it Off
In an Instagram story, Alex Scott and an unidentified colleague were heard laughing about Joey Barton's comments. Scott jokingly asked her colleague, "Who are you interviewing?" to which the colleague replied, "I'm interviewing you actually." Scott then quipped, "Oh are you? What are we talking about, Joey Barton?"
Sexist Rant
Joey Barton's comments came in the form of a sexist rant, where he stated that Scott should not be commentating on men's football because she hasn't played in it. He compared the differences between men's and women's football, emphasizing that the games are played at different speeds.
Scott's Impressive Career
Alex Scott had a successful football career, winning eight league titles, three WSL Cups, seven FA Cups, and one Champions League title. She also won two Community Shields. Despite her accomplishments, Barton does not believe she is qualified enough to speak on men's football.

Comparing to Formula One
To justify his argument, Barton compared it to himself commentating on Formula One just because he can drive a car. He highlighted that football is more than just rules and that the two versions of the game are played at different speeds.
