Home Secretary Suella Braverman has urged police chiefs across the country to take action against the display of Palestinian flags on UK streets following the recent attacks in Israel. In a letter, Braverman called for increased patrols and the use of police powers to prevent disorder.
Supporting British Jews
During her visit to the Community Security Trust, an organization dedicated to protecting British Jews from anti-Semitism, Braverman emphasized the need for immediate action against criminality both offline and online. She also joined police officers on patrol in north London to get a first-hand look at the situation.
Zero Tolerance for Anti-Semitism
Braverman emphasized that there is no place for demonstrations, convoys, or flag-waving on British streets that glorify terrorism or harass the Jewish community. She stated, "There can be zero tolerance for anti-Semitism. Sadly, we have seen in recent years how events in the Middle East are used as an excuse to stir up hatred against British Jewish communities."
Urging Police Chiefs to Take Action
The Home Secretary has written to police chiefs in England and Wales, urging them to step up patrols and make use of all available powers to prevent disorder and distress within communities. Braverman stressed that there can be no equivocation when it comes to confronting the evil of anti-Semitism.

Braverman concluded, "It is incumbent upon all of us to confront the evil of anti-Semitism whenever and wherever we encounter it."
