Labour MP Rosie Duffield Cleared of Anti-Semitism and Transphobia Claims

Labour MP Rosie Duffield has been cleared by the party on allegations of anti-Semitism and transphobia. The women's rights campaigner announced yesterday that she was found to have "no case to answer".

Labour Launched Probe Last Year

Last year, Labour launched an investigation after Duffield liked a tweet by Graham Linehan, the creator of Father Ted. Linehan had responded to Eddie Izzard's claims of being "murdered by the Nazis" as a trans woman, saying, "Ah yes, the Nazis, famously bigoted against straight white men with blonde hair."

Accusations Denied

Ms. Duffield had strongly denied the accusations of anti-Semitism and transphobia. She said, "Immediately before Christmas, I was informed that the existing allegations, which had been confirmed by the party, had been dismissed by the NEC. There was no case to answer, and nothing I had done had breached any Labour party rule. I was completely exonerated."

Confirmation as Labour Candidate Expected

With the dismissal of the allegations, Duffield anticipates being formally confirmed as the Labour candidate for Canterbury shortly.
