Foreign Secretary James Cleverly: Hamas will not adhere to calls for Gaza ceasefire

Warning against manipulation

Foreign Secretary James Cleverly has criticized calls for a ceasefire in Gaza, stating that terrorist group Hamas has never indicated that they would comply with such a request. Cleverly also cautioned Brits participating in marches advocating for a truce, as he believes that certain factions may exploit the demonstrations to spread disinformation.

Iranian agents fueling unrest in Britain

There are reports that Iranian agents are attempting to capitalize on the Gaza protests to incite turmoil in the UK. Cleverly emphasized the need for caution and urged protestors to remain vigilant against manipulation and disinformation.

No confidence in Hamas

Cleverly expressed doubt regarding Hamas' commitment to a ceasefire, stating that he has seen no evidence from the group to suggest that they desire or would adhere to such calls. He emphasized the UK's efforts to facilitate the passage of humanitarian aid and the release of hostages in Gaza.

Israel urged to allow humanitarian aid

Cleverly revealed that Britain has been pressuring Israel to permit the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza. However, he highlighted the challenge posed by Hamas, as they store weapons and operate from within civilian infrastructure, using the population as human shields.
