World Boxing Champ Faces Another Setback as Birds Pose Hazard
Tyson Fury, the world boxing champion, has hit another roadblock in his plans to build a £4 million mansion. This time, it's not bats but birds that have caused the setback.
The heavyweight king had already abandoned his plans to demolish a house on the site after discovering bats roosting in the loft. Instead, he intended to expand the existing eight-bedroom home and add a basement music room, games area, breakfast and garden rooms, and a cinema.
Flight Safety Concerns Raised by Safeguarding Authority
The safeguarding authority at Manchester airport, located nearby, has now raised concerns about the potential risk of birds being attracted to the Cheshire site. The authority specifically mentioned the planting of cherry trees or the presence of open water, including swimming pools, as potential attractants for birds.
Given the proximity of the airport, flight safety and bird strike avoidance are top priorities. To address these concerns, the authority has specified that only sterile or rarely-fruiting trees should be used in the landscaping.

Exterior Lighting Restrictions for Pilot Distraction
In addition to the bird-related concerns, Tyson Fury has also been restricted from using exterior uplighting. This measure aims to prevent any potential distraction for pilots flying in the vicinity.
Revamping Needed for Current Property
Aerial images of Tyson Fury's current property reveal a need for significant renovation. The property appears cluttered with used cars and litter, making it look like a dumping ground.
Currently, Fury and his partner Paris reside with their six children in a £1.7 million home in Morecambe, Lancs. The planned move to the new mansion will bring them closer to Tyson's brother Tommy, a boxer, and his Love Island girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague. The couple resides in a nearby £3.5 million mansion.
