Tyson Fury's Fight with Oleksandr Usyk in Doubt After Shambolic Win

Tyson Furys Fight with Oleksandr Usyk in Doubt After Shambolic Win

Fury Refuses to Confirm December 23 Fight

British boxing champion Tyson Fury has refused to confirm whether his scheduled fight with Oleksandr Usyk will go ahead on December 23 in Saudi Arabia. The two fighters were believed to have agreed to the date, but Fury's recent lackluster performance against MMA star Francis Ngannou has raised doubts.

Ngannou Gives Fury a Run for His Money

In the fight against Ngannou, Fury struggled to land significant punches and was knocked down in the third round. Ngannou dominated the match, leaving Fury with heavy bruising and a cut on his face. Despite the underwhelming performance, Fury was awarded a split decision victory.

Fury Keeps Fans Guessing

During a post-fight interview, Fury and his promoter Frank Warren were asked about the December 23 fight. While Warren diplomatically mentioned that Fury needed rest and time to make a decision, Fury remained evasive. He stated that he would go home, rest, and then decide on his next move.

Usyk Ready for the Challenge

Usyk, on the other hand, expressed his readiness for the fight when he entered the ring to confront Fury. Both fighters seemed enthusiastic about the match taking place in Saudi Arabia, with Usyk simply saying, "Let's go."

No Clear Date Set

Despite the speculation surrounding the December 23 date, Warren poured cold water on the idea, stating that no decision could be made until Fury's head cut was examined. He emphasized that the fight was wanted by both fighters and that it was just a matter of setting a new date. Warren called it the biggest fight in boxing.

It remains to be seen whether Fury and Usyk will ultimately face off in December or if the fight will be postponed.
