Tyson Fury Reacts to Anthony Joshua Linking Up with Former Coach for Otto Wallin Fight

Heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury has responded in a classy manner to the news that his biggest rival, Anthony Joshua, has teamed up with his former coach Ben Davison for his upcoming fight against Otto Wallin. Davison was instrumental in bringing Fury back to the ring after a period of mental health struggles. Despite the rivalry between Fury and Joshua, the Gypsy King surprisingly praised the move, stating that it is a good match-up and a positive step for Joshua.

A Good Move for Joshua

Speaking about Joshua's decision to work with Davison, Fury expressed his approval. He said, "That's a good match-up. It's a very good move. I think it's good for AJ because he's local. I think it's a good move." Joshua typically trains with American coach Derrick James in Texas, but with James currently occupied with another fighter, Ryan Garcia, Joshua has enlisted the help of Davison for his next fight.

A Temporary Arrangement

Joshua, 34, will be stationed in the UK in preparation for his fight against Wallin on December 23 in Saudi Arabia. This temporary collaboration with Davison will allow Joshua to train locally. Davison, who played a crucial role in Fury's journey from 30 STONE to challenging for the world title against Deontay Wilder in 2018, now works with several other top prospects, including two-time featherweight champion Leigh Wood, 35.

Previous Encounter

Interestingly, Fury's last fight with Davison was against Wallin, the same opponent Joshua will face. Despite winning the fight, Fury required 47 stitches due to a cut sustained during the match. This connection adds an extra layer of intrigue to the upcoming bout between Joshua and Wallin.
