The atmosphere was electric at Old Trafford as Bayern Munich and Manchester United faced off in their crucial final Champions League group game. However, the match took a heated turn when players from both teams nearly came to blows after a "naughty incident" on 24 minutes.
Alejandro Garnacho's collision sparks the confrontation
It all started when Man Utd's Alejandro Garnacho collided heavily with Bayern's Kingsley Coman while attempting to get past him. The French star crashed into the pitchside hoardings as his teammates rushed over to confront Garnacho. The situation quickly escalated, with Garnacho's own colleagues stepping in to support him.
No serious harm done
Thankfully, Coman emerged from the incident unharmed. The referee intervened and managed to diffuse the situation, allowing the game to continue without any disciplinary action being taken.
Divided opinions on the incident
While the referee deemed the incident to be without malice, not everyone shared the same view. Former Chelsea and Blackburn striker Chris Sutton expressed his belief that Garnacho's actions were "a bit naughty" in an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live.
