God. The 2025 Premier League Darts season has been nothing short of INSANE so far. I've been glued to my TV every Thursday night, watching these tungsten titans battle it out across the UK and Europe.
The reigning champ Luke Littler is back at it again, but things hit different this time around. The kid (can we even call him that anymore?) strutted into this season with the World Championship belt already around his waist after taking down MVG at Ally Pally back in January. Talk about a confidence boost.
The "Who's Who" of Arrows This Season
So who's actually competing in this 17-week marathon of precision and pressure? The PDC selected the top four from the Order of Merit plus four wildcards. No real shockers there, except... Peter Wright and Michael Smith both missed the cut.
I ran into Snakebite at a exhibition match in March and he looked absolutely gutted about missing out. Poor guy. His technicolor mohawk seemed less vibrant than usual - though maybe that was just the terrible lighting at teh venue.

Here's who made it in:
Luke Littler (the teenage phenom who's now a world champ)
Luke Humphries (Cool Hand Luke, world #1)
Michael van Gerwen (the bald eagle of darts)
Rob Cross (Voltage - remember when he was an electrician?)
Stephen Bunting (The Bullet - finally getting his due)
Gerwyn Price (The Iceman - still flexing those biceps)
Nathan Aspinall (The Asp - my mate's favorite player)
Chris Dobey (Hollywood - who my wife thinks is "the cute one")
Wait... Bunting Actually Won Something?!
Night Nine in Berlin delivered something nobody saw coming - Stephen Bunting finally got his hands on a Premier League night trophy. I've followed Bunting since his BDO days, and watching him edge out Price 6-5 in that final was genuinely emotional.
My brother texted me immediately after: "Is this real life or am I hallucinating?" Couldn't have said it better myself.
The Littler Effect: Teenage Dreams and Growing Pains
Littler's been on a wild ride. After dropping his opening match to MVG in Belfast (painful to watch), he bounced back to win Night Two in Glasgow by taking down Humphries 6-5 in an absolute classic.
I spent $120 on tickets to see him in Manchester, and lemme tell you - the atmosphere when he walks on stage is unlike anything I've experienced in 15 years of watching darts. It's like a rock concert crossed with a football match.
But consistency? That's been the challenge. One night he's demolishing Humphries 6-1, the next he's getting schooled by Dobey. Welcome to life as a sports prodigy, kid.
The Night That Made Me Spill My Pint
Night Eight in Newcastle. Still can't believe what I witnessed.
Littler absolutely STEAMROLLED Stephen Bunting 6-0 in the quarters. Not a leg dropped. Zero. Nada. I actually spilled my overpriced lager when he closed out the match with a 170 checkout. $7.50 down the drain, but worth every penny.
Then he went on to dismantle Humphries 6-1 in the final. The kind of performance that makes you question if you're watching someone rewrite what's possible in this sport.
So... What Happens Next?
We've still got a few weeks left before the playoffs in Sheffield on May 22nd. The standings are tight as hell, with Littler, Humphries, and Price all jockeying for position.
My prediction? Littler takes the whole thing again. I've put £50 on it with my buddy Dave (who stupidly backed MVG despite his inconsistent form). Easy money, if you ask me.
The Birmingham night just kicked off with Littler squeaking past Bunting 6-5. The kid seems to have Bunting's number... except for that one time in Berlin when The Bullet got his revenge in the semis.
This is why we love darts. Unpredictable. Raw. Electric.
And if you're not watching yet... what are you waiting for? Thursdays won't be the same once this season wraps up.
