God. Saturdays like these make me question why I ever decided to follow four matches simultaneously. My living room looks like a sports bar explosion—laptop, TV, phone propped against a coffee mug, and my old tablet that keeps freezing at crucial moments. Classic.

The early kickoff between Villa and Fulham had me spilling coffee all over my new rug (thanks, Tielemans). Just one goal separated them in the end, with Villa continuing their European push. My buddy Dave—diehard Fulham supporter since 2007—hasn't responded to any of my texts. Poor guy.

That Villa-Fulham Match Though...

Villa Park was buzzing this morning. I'd put £30 on a draw (rookie mistake) while nursing a hangover from last night's pub quiz disaster. Youri Tielemans decided to crush my betting slip with the only goal of teh match, continuing Villa's impressive home form.

Fulham didn't look terrible, to be fair. They created chances but lacked that clinical edge in the final third. My cousin who sits in the Holte End sent me a voice note that was basically just screaming when the goal went in. Typical.

Basement Battles and Relegation Tears

As I write this, two 3pm kickoffs are underway that couldn't feel more different emotionally.

Everton are hosting Ipswich at Goodison—a match that feels like watching someone kick a team that's already down. Ipswich, bless 'em, secured relegation faster than I secure the last slice of pizza at a party. Their return to the top flight has been... well... brief.

Meanwhile, Leicester and Southampton are locked in what my dad would call "a proper six-pointer." Both hovering dangerously close to the drop zone. I actually ran into a Leicester fan at the supermarket yesterday who looked like he hadn't slept since 2016. "Just want this season over," he mumbled while staring vacantly at frozen peas.

Why Does My Arsenal Friend Keep Texting Me Already?

Listen. The 5:30pm kickoff between Arsenal and Bournemouth hasn't even started yet, but my phone won't stop buzzing with messages from Mark, who's convinced this is "the day Arsenal's title charge really begins."

I've watched enough football since 1998 to know better than to make those kinds of proclamations. Bournemouth aren't exactly pushovers this season.

The Emirates will be electric though. Last time I visited (paid £75 for a ticket that gave me a view of approximately 3/4 of the pitch), the atmosphere was surprisingly good. Arsenal fans sensing possibility is both beautiful and slightly terrifying.
