Millwall Under FA Investigation After Linesman Struck by Object Thrown from Crowd

Millwall Football Club is facing an investigation by the Football Association (FA) after an incident during their game against Queens Park Rangers (QPR). Assistant referee Matthew Wilkes was hit on the head by an object thrown from the crowd at The Den stadium. Wilkes immediately informed referee Thomas Bramall about the incident, which occurred in the 55th minute of the match.

Concerning Behavior at The Den

The incident involving Wilkes has raised serious concerns about fan behavior at Millwall's home ground. The club's manager, Joe Edwards, condemned the incident and revealed that their goalkeeper, Matija Sarkic, was also targeted with objects thrown from the stands during the match. Edwards expressed his disappointment and emphasized that such behavior should not be tolerated. The club will be addressing these issues and taking appropriate action.

Millwall Secures a 2-0 Win

Despite the unfortunate incident, Millwall managed to secure a 2-0 victory over QPR. Tom Bradshaw's goal just before half-time and Murray Wallace's late strike sealed the win for Millwall, ending their seven-game winless streak. The victory provided much-needed relief for new manager Joe Edwards and showcased the team's spirit and aggression.

QPR's Disappointing Performance

On the other hand, QPR had a disappointing performance, according to their manager, Marti Cifuentes. He described it as their worst performance since he joined the club. Cifuentes took responsibility for the team's lackluster start and admitted that Millwall was more aggressive throughout the match.
