Max Verstappen Predicts A Few Surprises at Las Vegas Grand Prix with F1 Stars Taking on Spectacular New Circuit

Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen is anticipating unexpected moments at the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix.

The highly anticipated event is set to be held on the iconic strip for the first time from November 17-19. Verstappen, fresh off his recent victory at the Brazilian Grand Prix in Sao Paulo, spoke to the media about the upcoming race. He admitted that there is still a lot of preparation to be done before they head to Nevada.

"I still need to go on the simulator. I still don't even know the track, to be honest," Verstappen said. "The last time I tried it on the F1 game, I think I hit more walls than I was going straight. So, let's hope that's not the case when I start driving there."

The 3.8-mile track, which will feature seventeen corners and three straights, is expected to reach average speeds of 212 mph. The circuit will take drivers down the legendary strip, passing by famous landmarks such as the Bellagio, Mirage, and Caesars Palace, while also circling The MSG Sphere.

Verstappen acknowledged that the Las Vegas circuit will be vastly different from Sao Paulo, with much lower temperatures and a street circuit layout. He added, "All new – so maybe it will give you a few surprises. I don't know."

Given Verstappen's dominant form this season, it wouldn't be surprising if he clinched his seventeenth win of the year in Nevada. However, the Dutchman will have to contend with the unfamiliarity of the track and grip conditions.

This won't be the first time that F1 has made an appearance in downtown Las Vegas. The city previously hosted races in 1981 and 1982. The 1981 Caesars Palace Grand Prix was held on a temporary course in a car park, with Alan Jones taking the victory for Williams.

The following year, Michele Alboreto emerged as the winner for Tyrrell, beating out John Watson from McLaren. Eddie Cheever secured a podium finish for Ligier at his home race.
