Hamilton's Frustration Grows as Mercedes Struggles Continue
As the Formula One season nears its end, Lewis Hamilton is eagerly anticipating the conclusion of what can only be described as a disastrous campaign for himself and Mercedes. The British driver recently admitted that he is "counting down the days" until he can bid farewell to the 2023 Mercedes car.
Another Disappointing Finish for Hamilton
In the recent sprint race in Sao Paulo, Hamilton once again found himself off the pace, finishing in seventh place. Max Verstappen clinched the victory, leaving Hamilton over 34 seconds behind his rival. The Mercedes star is currently fighting to secure second place in the overall standings, with Verstappen already securing his third consecutive world title last month.
Growing Frustration with Mercedes' Inconsistency
Despite some progress for the Mercedes team, Hamilton is becoming increasingly frustrated with their inconsistency. He is ready for a fresh start and stated, "The last couple of races we have been excited that we have been progressing, and it has been positive to see. But then you come to another track and I have the worst tyre degradation I have had for ages, so you just don't know what to expect."
Counting Down the Days
Hamilton expressed his relief that there are only a few more races left with the current car, saying, "There are only a couple of more races with this car and then it is done, so I will be happy. I am just counting down the days."

A Glimpse of Hope in Austin
In the race in Austin, Hamilton showed signs of his usual form, finishing in second place. However, his joy was short-lived as he was disqualified following a post-race scrutineering check on the Mercedes car.
Looking Ahead
Hamilton doesn't have to wait much longer for the end of this winless season. The upcoming race in Las Vegas will be followed by the season's climax in Abu Dhabi at the end of the month. Only time will tell if Hamilton can salvage any positives from this challenging year.
