Former UFC LHW champ Jiri Prochazka used to run around with footie hooligans in the Czech Republic
Jiri Prochazka, the former UFC light-heavyweight champion, is set to make his highly anticipated return to the octagon at Madison Square Garden. It's a venue that Prochazka never could have imagined fighting in during his days running around with football hooligans in the Czech Republic.
Transformation from Tearaway to Title Contender
Prochazka's headlining of MSG is the culmination of a remarkable transformation. Before fully dedicating himself to martial arts, he used to take part in violent brawls with rival firms of his beloved FC Zbrojovak Brno. But martial arts changed his perspective on life and stopped him from engaging in thuggish brawls – something he's eternally grateful for.
Embracing Mastery in Every Part of Life
In an exclusive interview, Prochazka spoke about his journey and how martial arts has impacted every aspect of his life. He said, "Life is about learning and forgetting everything and practicing to do it better, better, better. It's a way of mastery... in every part of life."
Reclaiming the Belt
Prochazka vacated the UFC light-heavyweight title last November due to a shoulder injury. But he's determined to reclaim the belt in his upcoming fight against former middleweight champion Alex Pereira. Prochazka draws strength from the teachings of Miyamoto Musashi and the samurai code as he prepares for this challenge.

Dominance in Every Part of the Fight
Prochazka is aware of the dangers posed by Pereira, but he plans to dominate in every part of the fight. Whether it's in the stand-up or on the ground, Prochazka is determined to showcase his skills and prove that he deserves to be back at the top of the light-heavyweight division.
