Brentford on red alert
Brentford is eyeing a potential transfer swoop for Jack Clarke as the young star finds himself in a contract stand-off with Sunderland. The Bees boss, Thomas Frank, has expressed his interest in signing Clarke, and the ongoing dispute between the player and the Black Cats could give Brentford a boost in their pursuit.
New deal complications
Sunderland is offering Clarke a raise, but they also want to include a significant sell-on clause in any deal. However, the cash offer is not a substantial increase, and the 22-year-old winger could potentially earn more in the Premier League.
The Wearside club is also keen to add a fixed fee of just below £20 million, which means negotiations will be necessary to reach an agreement on Clarke's future.
Brentford's bid
Brentford is prepared to make an offer of around £15 million for Clarke, who has attracted interest from other clubs, including Burnley, who had bids rejected for him during the summer transfer window.

Clarke's career journey
Clarke began his senior career with Leeds in 2018 after spending nine years in their youth ranks. He then made a move to Tottenham in 2019 but only managed four appearances during his three-year stint with the club. He had loan spells back at Leeds, as well as Queens Park Rangers, Stoke, and Sunderland. The Black Cats signed Clarke permanently in 2022, just a few months after he joined on loan. So far, Clarke has scored 21 goals and provided 19 assists in 86 appearances for Sunderland.
