THIS award-winning racecourse has disappeared under an ocean of water – as Storm Henk causes fixture chaos up and down the country.
Devastating scenes at Huntingdon and Worcester racecourses
The yellow weather warning in place for large swathes of England came too late to save Huntingdon racecourse. The Cambridgeshire track suffered a fresh deluge over the weekend and photos showed the extent to which the track had been flooded. Worcester racecourse has also taken an absolute battering during this wet and wild winter. There is barely anything left to identify beneath the flooding.
Huntingdon racecourse hit hard
Fresh images have emerged showing the devastating effect the bursting of nearby Alconbury Brook's banks have had on Huntingdon racecourse. The home bend, straight, jumps, and hurdles are submerged beneath muddy water. The parade ring resembles a swimming pool and the lower steps of the grandstand lie underwater. It has been a terrible few weeks for Huntingdon, which lost their biggest race of the year and has been underwater ever since.
Worcester racecourse also underwater
Worcester racecourse is also totally submerged, with kayakers paddling down the home straight. Water from the nearby River Severn has been lapping at the windows of the on-course bookie sheds. Racing at Ffos Las in south Wales was abandoned, and with no sign of draining, it looks like Huntingdon's next meeting will be off too.

More fixtures at risk
Chepstow has already abandoned their Sunday fixture due to being "totally waterlogged and saturated." Wincanton's Saturday card is at risk with a yellow weather warning, and rain is forecast at Sandown and Plumpton before Saturday's action. Both fixtures have been chosen as the "premier" fixtures for the day and are set to feature on the ITV coverage.
