Arsenal Target Dusan Vlahovic Commits to Juventus with Talks of New Contract

Arsenal's Transfer Plans Take a Hit

Arsenal's pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic has hit a stumbling block as the striker has expressed his desire to stay at Juventus. Mikel Arteta had been eyeing Vlahovic for the past two years, but the player has firmly set his sights on remaining in Turin.

Previous Arsenal Interest

Arsenal made a bid for Vlahovic in January 2022, but he ultimately chose to join Juventus in a £62 million deal. Since then, he has scored an impressive 28 goals in 75 appearances for the Italian club.

Vlahovic's Commitment to Juventus

Despite recent speculation about his future due to Juventus' financial troubles, Vlahovic has made it clear that he has no intention of leaving the club. In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 23-year-old stated that he was always focused and calm, ignoring the noise surrounding transfer rumors.

He said, "I isolated myself and only thought about the retreat, and in the end, I'm very happy I stayed. It was what I wanted."

Other Clubs Interested

Arsenal and Chelsea were not the only clubs eyeing Vlahovic. Some Saudi Arabian clubs were also reportedly considering a move for the talented striker.

Valuation and Contract

Juventus currently value Vlahovic at £86 million, a significant increase from the £62 million they paid for him. His current contract with the club runs until June 2026.

Alternative Striker Targets

Arsenal and Chelsea may now have to turn their attention to other striker options. Both clubs are said to be interested in Napoli's Victor Osimhen, although his price tag is expected to be a Premier League record fee of at least £120 million.
