I remember sitting in my living room last year, scrolling through Instagram, and thinking "God, what happened to everyone's faces?" The pillow-faced look that dominated celeb culture for the past decade is FINALLY dying out. And thank goodness for that.
It's like we all collectively woke up from some bizarre beauty nightmare where duck lips and chipmunk cheeks were somehow the goal. Now stars are spending thousands to look... normal again? What a world.
The Moment Everything Changed
Last month, Lottie Moss (Kate's younger sister) showed off her "new face" after getting her fillers dissolved. I nearly spit out my coffee when I saw her before and after pics. The difference is wild.
"I dissolved everything in my face that I had before," she explained, pointing to a bruise on her lip from teh procedure. "I used to have jaw filler, which looked awful, and I used to have lip filler, but it's all gone now, and I look like me again."

Same story with Frankie Sims. Poor thing discovered she had old filler still hanging around FIVE YEARS later. Can you imagine? Walking around with mystery goop under your eyes for half a decade?
Wait... how much does this cost???
My friend works at a high-end clinic in London and texted me last week: "You wouldn't believe how many reality stars are coming in to dissolve everything." Her response when I asked about prices: "already updating my resume to afford it myself."
Turns out reversing these procedures isn't cheap. Molly-Mae Hague reportedly dropped over £6,000 just to undo her fillers, plus another £2K on fixing her teeth situation. That's a decent used car or a really nice vacation just to get back to where you started!
I feel stupid now for thinking these treatments were temporary. Apparently not.

Molly-Mae: The Face That Launched a Thousand Dissolutions
Back in 2018, Molly-Mae became something of a poster child for the overfilled look. Then she did a complete 180.
In her book (which I picked up at Waterstones for £12 and actually read), she admits her face looked "uneven and unnatural" after fillers. "Someone took a screenshot of my YouTube video and it went viral. 'What's Molly done to her face?' was the response. I was mortified."
The reality was that her once-sharp jawline had developed jowls hanging underneath, and her lips felt lumpy and weird. Not exactly the snatched look she was going for.
Look at her now though! At the BAFTAs this year, she looked... like a normal gorgeous 25-year-old. Revolutionary.

The Doctor's Take: Natural Is Making a Comeback
I spoke with a cosmetic doctor last week (ok fine, I was getting a facial and grilled the poor woman for 45 minutes) who confirmed this isn't just a few isolated cases.
Dr. Aamer Khan from Harley Street Skin Clinic says they're seeing a massive spike in filler dissolution. "Many people, including celebrities, come to us because they've had excessive filler elsewhere, which has resulted in an unnatural or unbalanced look."
According to him, there's a definite shift towards a more natural, classier aesthetic. People are now asking for subtle enhancements rather than that puffy, overfilled look that screams "I've had work done!"
Sophie's Sunken Eyes & Courtney's Confession
Sophie Kasaei from Geordie Shore just showed off her results on Instagram after having all her face filler dissolved. She was brutally honest about the aftermath - "my eyes are extremely sunken but that's a genetic thing."

And remember when Courtney Cox barely looked like herself? In 2017, she admitted she'd gone overboard: "I've had all my fillers dissolved. I feel better because I look like myself."
She explained how it happens so gradually... "The next thing you know, you're layered and layered. You have no idea because it's gradual until you go, 'Oh, s***, this doesn't look right.'"
Listen. That's the most relatable thing I've heard a celeb say in ages.
The £50K Face Reset
The most extreme example has to be Blac Chyna. According to plastic surgeon Dr. Richard Westreich, her cosmetic reversal journey has reportedly cost around £50,000!

And here's the kicker - he says it's impossible to completely remove all the silicone. "It's like trying to get sand off yourself after a day at the beach," he explained.
She had silicone injections in her buttocks as a TEENAGER. A teenager! What were we all thinking in the 2010s? I spent $4K on highlights and thought that was excessive.
Are We Finally Breaking Up With Fillers?
Maybe. Or maybe this is just another phase.
I've watched enough beauty trends come and go to know that what's "out" today could be "in" tomorrow. But there's something about this particular reversal that feels different - like we're collectively admitting we went too far.

My prediction? We'll see a lot more celebs going for what my aesthetician calls "the rich girl face" - that subtle, barely-there work that makes you look like you just drink a lot of water and have really good genes.
I just hope nobody's throwing away the contact info for their dissolving specialists. Something tells me we might need them again in 2030.
